Job summary

ZettaMine is seeking a POD Lead Physics Expert for a short-term Frontier AI Research initiative. This remote-freelancing role starts next week and runs for three weeks, with about 40 hours per week and a daily availability of at least 4 hours, including a 4-hour overlap with PST.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD or postdoc in physics, are proficient in Python/C/C++/Julia/Fortran, and have Linux and computational physics experience.

Qualifications

• PhD or postdoctoral research in physics or related field.
• Strong programming in Python, C/C++, Julia, or Fortran.
• Proficiency with Linux and terminal environments.
• Experience in computational physics, simulation, or data analysis.
• Ability to review scientific code and validate results.
• Experience mentoring technical teams and documenting work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a pod of technical trainers.
• Review tasks, inputs, datasets, reference solutions, and graders.
• Ensure physical correctness, numerical accuracy, and reproducibility.
• Validate unit Conservations, solver convergence, and tolerances.
• Identify errors and Prevent bypassed computations.
• Provide actionable feedback and track revisions.
• Allocate work, monitor quality, and maintain docs.
