Job summary

Arista Networks in Nashua, NH seeks an experienced POC/test engineer to design and run proof‑of‑concept tests with customers, validating network designs and performance. You will collaborate with Arista System Engineers to ensure solutions meet requirements.

The role emphasizes hands‑on testing, independent work, and strong communication while leveraging IXIA/Spirent, Python scripting, and Linux tools to validate large-scale networks. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in software test, system test, PoC tests, network consulting or related fields.
  • CCIE certification is a plus.
  • Experience with STP, LACP, OSPF, BGP, EVPN, ISIS, Segment Routing, BFD, NSF, MPLS, IGMP, PIM SM/SSM, ACL, QoS, Radius/TACACS+, 802.1x, NAC, sFlow.
  • Experience with VXLAN, OpenStack, etc.
  • Experience with firewalls, load balancers, and virtualization controllers in virtualized networks.
  • Experience in routing & switching hardware platform tests.
  • Experience with IXIA or Spirent for traffic generation and protocol emulation.
  • Server virtualization and Linux tools experience.
  • Scripting with Python, Tcl, Perl, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage projects independently.
  • Cross-functional collaboration in small teams.

Responsibilities

  • Write and develop POC test plans with engineers and customers to verify network designs.
  • Identify or develop test tools and methods for scale and performance.
  • Design, build and configure large test beds for POC tests.
  • Run trials to verify product meets customer needs and demonstrate capabilities.
  • Host customers for POC, execute tests and present results.
  • Document test results with logs and screenshots.
  • Log defects with detailed information and assist engineering in resolution.
  • Suggest feature enhancements based on customer feedback.
  • Participate in engineering spec and test plan reviews.
