Job summary

Amazon is seeking a PNT Estimation and Algorithms Engineer in Redmond to design and validate high-precision estimation architectures across terrestrial and space networks. You will develop orbit determination, filtering, and sensor fusion algorithms for accurate positioning and timing using RF and optical inter-satellite links.

Qualifications

• Master's degree requirement with 4+ years of research experience
• Experience with data analysis tools and complex problem solving
• Proven experience developing and tuning estimation algorithms for navigation or metrology applications
• Experience with orbit determination, sensor fusion, or state estimation for dynamic systems

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate orbit determination and clock estimation algorithms
• Develop ISL navigation and time-transfer measurement models
• Evaluate and integrate estimation techniques to improve positioning and timing accuracy
• Design and build simulation and analysis frameworks to characterize filter performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet mission-level accuracy requirements
• Conduct performance analysis of estimation algorithms across distributed constellation and ground infrastructure
