Job summary

Barfield in Miami is seeking a Pneumatics Technician to perform testing, fault isolation, inspection, repair, preventive maintenance and rework on aircraft pneumatic components. You will train with senior staff and work under the lead technician to meet high quality standards.

The role requires 1–2 years pneumatics experience, English proficiency, and ability to interpret OEM schematics and maintenance manuals. This is a full-time on-site position with Barfield.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• 1-2 years aircraft pneumatics maintenance experience.
• Understanding of calibration and troubleshooting pneumatic components.
• Familiarity with OEM schematics, technical instructions/diagrams, and CMMs.
• Willing to assist engineering development and adapt to new technologies.
• Basic electricity knowledge.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
• A&P, Repairman’s Certificate or FCC license preferred but not mandatory.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

We are looking to hire a dedicated Pneumatics Technician to join our team who will support our Pneumatics Technician department.

General Purpose of Job

Perform testing, fault isolation, inspection, quoting, repair, preventative maintenance, and rework on various types of Aircraft pneumatic component accessories.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs testing, fault isolation, inspection, quoting, repair, preventative maintenance, and rework on various types of Aircraft pneumatic component accessories to include but not limited to: Press. Reg. Shut Off Valves, Pressure switches, Flow Control Valves, Cabin Press. Safety Valves, Surge Control Valves, Fan Air Modulating Valves, Start Valves, Low limit Valves, Press. Controllers, Anti-Ice Valves, Pneumatic Starters and Electro-pneumatic components, while keeping in line with the respective CMM, SPM, SB/AD, EO, Airline Technical. Document, or other OEM Tech. Data.
• Receives and performs training given by any experienced shop team member or the lead technician. Works with friendly and positive attitude; always ready to learn new tasks, and participate willingly with teammates
• Needs to be familiar with a variety of workshop concepts, practices, and procedures. Rely on training, experience and judgment to plan and accomplish set goals for maximum productivity. Performs a variety of complicated tasks, while keeping the highest quality standard. Usually reports to the lead technician, supervisor, or manager.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Can read, write, speak and understand English
• 1-2 years min. of aircraft pneumatics components maintenance experience or equivalent
• Understanding of and abilities in calibrating/ troubleshooting pneumatic components
• Capable and comfortable at assimilating new or different pneumatic (and other accessories) capabilities
• Capable and comfortable using OEM schematics, technical instructions/diagrams, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) and other documents such as Reliability Work Scopes, Best Practices, and customer EO’S
• Willingness to assist engineering development within related technologies, as required
• Possess knowledge of basic electricity
• Capable and willing to work in a fast-paced environment, while multi-tasking
• Pneumatics Components Bench Technician Level 1
• Comfortable receiving training, and able to demonstrate good communication skills
• Dexterity and knowledge with hand tools, special tools and precision calibration equipment. (even other mechanical fields equivalency)
• Must be adaptive and willing to engage new concepts, processes and technical capabilities. Also, able to efficiently work with a technical operating system (ERP).
• Must possess the ability to work with little or no supervision.
• A & P, Repairman’s Certificate, FCC License., preferable but not mandatory
