Job summary

BARNES-JEWISH HOSPITAL is seeking a technician to maintain and repair the hospital's pneumatic tube transport system. You will troubleshoot, test, and service mechanical, electrical, and control components while monitoring performance data to improve reliability.

You will collaborate with maintenance staff and external vendors, ensure adequate spare parts, and provide training to clinical staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate or trade school equivalency preferred.
• 2–5 years in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs operational support, diagnostics, troubleshooting, testing, and corrective maintenance of the pneumatic tube transport system.
• Monitors and evaluates system performance by analyzing data and reports to identify trends and reliability concerns.
• Maintains adequate inventory to reduce lead time of repair parts.
• Develops and recommends system optimizations and corrective actions to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Provides training and support to clinical and operational staff; collaborates with maintenance teams and external vendors.
