Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is hiring a PMTS Software Development Engineer to identify and analyze performance bottlenecks in application performance, using all available tools and code to determine bottlenecks and design solutions.

You will work with AMD architecture specialists to improve future products and promote efficient approaches to software vendors. The role requires five years of experience, a Master’s or equivalent degree in CS/CE/EE or related field, and strong skills in

Competenze

• Five years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
• Shipped code with SIMD intrinsics such as AVX512.
• Identifying performance bottlenecks on any platform.
• C or C++ programming.
• Investigating compiler code generation, such as LLVM auto-vectorization.
• Modern concurrent programming and threading APIs.
• CPU architecture knowledge.
• Version control with Git or Mercurial.
• Developing highly parallel applications and algorithms.
• Power or performance tuning.
• x86/x64 assembly language.
• Python and JavaScript exposure.
• Compiler development experience.
• Performance optimization or ISA optimization.
• WebAssembly or Web standards development.

Job Role and Responsibility:

AMD, Inc., is hiring PMTS Software Development Engineer to Identify and analyze AMD strengths and weaknesses in application performance, finding performance bottlenecks. Use all available tools and/or source code to determine the nature of the identified bottleneck. Design solutions or workarounds to mitigate identified bottlenecks. Work with AMD’s architecture specialists to improve future products. Apply a data minded approach to target optimization efforts. Research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work and promote these to software vendors. Develop technical relationships with your peers at our partner software vendors. Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially in algorithms and architecture. Contribute performance improvements to open source projects and identify other applications that may benefit. Be a specialist in the performance characteristics of mainstream CPUs. Some travel may be involved as you visit our partners at their locations as needed for co engineering efforts and education. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various company proprietary products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required:

Five (5) years experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.

Alternate combination of education and experience:

Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and seven (7) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
