Job summary

Mitsubishi Power in Orlando, FL seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead Brownfield power generation projects through all phases from concept to closeout, ensuring safety, quality, cost control, and on-time performance. You will direct large cross-functional teams, manage budgets over $200M, and communicate status to stakeholders.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s in engineering, 11+ years of relevant experience, and strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills. PMP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 11 years of experience managing large power generation projects.
• PMP certification preferred but not required.
• Strong ability to analyze technical, contractual, and financial information.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Proficient with project management, scheduling, spreadsheet, word processing, and technical documentation software.

Responsibilities

• Manage a single large-scale project exceeding $200M or a portfolio of Power Generation projects, including leadership of project teams.
• Communicate project health, risks, and status to stakeholders, customers, sponsors, and senior leadership.
• Capture and document lessons learned and provide summary briefings as required.
• Identify project risks, issues, and opportunities through detailed contract analysis and develop mitigation strategies.
• Develop the project baseline income statement using approved estimates, pricing, and Division of Responsibility (DOR) splits.
• Provide regular cost reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Oversee development and execution of integrated project schedules including critical path activities.
• Ensure appropriate resource allocation and execution against baseline plans.
• Support development of recovery plans when project deviations occur.
• Leads scope expansion initiatives and develop change order technical, pricing, and execution strategies.
• Direct all phases of assigned projects using established project management methodologies, tools, and quality standards.
• Manage formal change control across scope, cost, schedule, performance, and configuration.
• Provide timely performance feedback and support conflict resolution within project teams.
• Support continuous improvement of project management practices and adoption of new processes.
• Contribute to proposal development and bid support activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Excellence Manager

Role Overview

The Senior Project Manageris responsible formanaging and executing Brownfield projects from early conceptual stages through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, performance testing, and contract closeout. This role provides leadership to high-performing project teams andmaintainsfull accountability for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and customer satisfaction in alignment with contract requirements and Mitsubishi Power performance standards.
