PMO Manager

£400-450 per day, Outside IR35

Fully Remote (Must be based in UK)

Initial 3 month Contract (very likely to extend)

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced PMO Manager to support the delivery of complex programmes within a public sector or government setting. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to drive best practices across project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage PMO activities across multiple projects and programmes.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks, reporting standards, and risk/issue tracking.
  • Provide support in planning, resource management, and assurance.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Monitor project performance and implement continuous improvement processes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a PMO Manager in the public sector or government domain.
  • Strong understanding of programme governance, controls, and delivery frameworks (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, Agile).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and regulated environment.
  • Experience with tools such as MS Project, Power BI, or PPM platforms.
