EAD Management Services is looking for an experienced PMO Director to serve as the primary client contact and escalation point for staffing, bandwidth, or delivery issues. May provide support in assigning resources (dedicated or variable) to projects/programs. Must be capable of always presenting himself or herself in a professional manner.
This position requires a highly motivated self-starter with a strong project management background within the life sciences sector.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for training PMO staff and developing PMO process/services to support client requests and needs
- Leads cross-functional projects and programs end-to-end using a formal PMO process.
- Facilitates the development of a program charter and integrated timeline
- Accountable to ensure all functions remain on schedule, that issues get escalated and resolved, and that the program is completed successfully
- Facilitates regular meetings to review project status for active and pending projects (project pipeline)
- Collaborates with the core team to develop solutions and lead project through implementation and completion
- Responsible for reporting status of individual and groups of projects and programs.
- Must be able to provide appropriate levels of details and be able to summarize complex issues succinctly
- Manages internal and external relationships in support of program; may contract and manage vendors
- May provide consultation on complex large-scale projects that integrate into an organized program
- Manages the planning, organization, and controls for the PMO department
- Approves subordinates' recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action, and termination
- Leads and supports staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention
- Responsible for setting project, department and/or divisions deadlines
- Aggressively pursue profitable business
- Establish, maintain, and continually build a profitable client base across various vertical markets
- Build a rapport with each client and be at the forefront of client servicing and support initiatives
- Qualify and pursue new business based on potential revenue, profit and timely close.
- Participate in pricing the solution/service
- Signs Client agreement, if legally qualified within the limits of EAD signatory policy
- Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements, and working through differences to a positive conclusion, using a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately
- Supports the Managing Director in developing commercial strategy and contribute to its execution
- Sell the company's "total value" in terms of quality, price, delivery, and service
- Interface with clients, vendors, construction administrators, and project team
- Time manage and prioritize tasks to achieve results within cost and schedule constraints
- Approve and oversee department budget
- Make recommendations that have a direct impact on the company
- Responsible for adhering to all EAD's safety standards, practices, and core values
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Project management experience; with a minimum of 10 years related experience with at least 4 of them in a leadership support role within the life sciences sector
- Strong leadership, process, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key stakeholders, key employees, client groups and executive leaders to take desired action
- Strong sense of accountability and ownership
- Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and other software applications
- Ability to intelligently communicate about multiple industrial solutions
- Excellent written verbal communication skills with Clients and in-house support staff
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues
- Knowledge of multiple industry standards (ISA, NFPA, NEC, UL508A)
- Possess and able to maintain a valid driver's license
Preferred Certifications and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Electrical, Mechanical, or another Engineering/Technical field preferred
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred
Working Conditions:
- Office, plant, or client site environment*
- Ability to sit and work at computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day
- May work near moving mechanical parts and equipment*
- Office, Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals*
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.*
- Periodic weekend, holiday or evening work as needed
- Travel as required
*EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal protective equipment as necessary.
