Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Otero County Processing Facility’s Medical Unit in Chaparral, NM, delivering professional mental health services to residents and inmates. The role reports to the health services administrator and oversees psychiatric care within a high-security environment.

The position requires collaboration with internal teams, development of therapeutic programs, and compliance with HIPAA and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited physician’s assistant program and current license, or PMHNP with license and certification.
• Current DEA registration as required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification current.
• Two to five years’ experience, preferably in correctional or psychiatric settings.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide coordinated mental health services to inmates while ensuring safety.
• Diagnose mental health conditions and develop treatment plans; provide ongoing psychiatric care.
• Perform mental health assessments including suicide prevention and crisis de-escalation.
