Job summary

UC Irvine is seeking candidates for Professional Researcher Series (Assistant/Associate Rank) in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The incumbent will demonstrate potential for independent and creative research activity, with service expectations optional for the Assistant rank and possible university/public service for the Associate rank.

Positions are contingent on extramural funding; initial appointments are for one year with renewal depending on funding availability.

Qualifications

• DPT, PhD, DO, or MD degree required.
• Biological Sciences background with specialized training/research in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Appointments dependent on extramural funding; initial term is one year with possible renewal based on funding.

Responsibilities

• Engage in independent and creative research activity as part of the Professional Researcher Series.
• Participate in service activities as appropriate for Assistant/Associate rank.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and contribute to research reviews as needed.

Position Description
The UC Irvine School of Medicine Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is seeking candidates for a Professional Researcher Series (Assistant/Associate Rank) positions.
Criteria for the Professional Researcher Series: The incumbent will be expected to demonstrate the potential for continuous and effective engagement in independent and creative research activity. An Assistant Researcher rank is not required to participate in service activities. An Associate Researcher rank is expected to engage in University and/or public service, such as on research review boards.
Applications are sought from candidates with DPT, PhD, DO, or MD degree. Preferred education in Biological Sciences, with some specialized training and/or research experience in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Mechanical Engineering. Positions are dependent upon extramural funding. Initial appointments are for one year, and renewal will be dependent upon availability of support.
