Job summary

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is seeking a Product Marketing Manager to lead go-to-market strategies for product launches and manage key retail accounts.

This role requires P&L management, GTM planning, and close collaboration with Sales Operations and Integrated Marketing to optimize merchandising online and in brick-and-mortar stores. Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of consumer product marketing experience, strong negotiation and presentation skills, and proficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 6 years of experience in consumer product marketing preferred.
  • Experience with negotiations and professional presentation skills.
  • Experience with financial analysis and simulations.
  • Professional experience with Microsoft Office: (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
  • Experience with planning, organizing, and prioritizing simultaneous projects/reports.
  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Forecast weekly unit forecasts by model and key account based on channel inventory and sell-through history.
  • P&L management of products; build out GTM strategy; identify channel opportunities and placement.
  • Assess competitive initiatives and respond to market trends and pricing changes.
  • Support development and growth of relationships with major national and regional accounts; present assortment and pricing information.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Product Marketing Manager, you will responsible for managing the overall go-to market strategies for product launches as well as for key retail accounts. Responsibilities also include managing the following for their respective businesses:

  • Sales

  • Forecast accuracy
  • Inventory level
Roles and Responsibilities:
Forecasting

You will become an expert at collaborative forecasting by fully understanding the input from the Sales team and the upcoming market conditions. You will prepare weekly unit forecasts (AP2) based on analysis of channel inventory, sell-through history, future promotions, competitive activity, and seasonality by model and by key account. In order to do this, you will work closely with Sales Operations staff, assisting in weekly sales forecast and product allocations.

Product Launch

P&L management of your product and build out GTM strategy and identify Channel opportunities/placement. This will also include working with Integrated Marketing to create and align on merchandising strategy for both online and in Brick & Mortar locations.

Competitive Analysis:

In this role you will assess competitive initiatives and provide appropriate competitive responses. This will include continually researching the market environment, including retail positioning of product, and market trends such as product positioning, key features, and benefits. In addition, you will monitor competitive pricing and trends in the market.

Customer Facing

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the development and growth of positive relationships with all major national and regional accounts. You will provide continuous updates to support an informed and knowledgeable sales organization. From time to time you will be responsible for presenting assortment and pricing information to customers.

Projects:

You will coordinate new model launch plans, ensuring smooth transition and fast ramp-up for new offerings each year. You will work closely with the Demand Generation group to direct creation of marketing materials, collateral sales support materials, training materials, and online assets.

Culture Requirements:

The CE team is a very collaborative group that is poised to help usher in the future of Samsung. This group is extremely collaborative and hard-working. We require a person who requires little supervision and can navigate complex organizations. Excellent communication skills are a must. It is critical that you can work with cross-functional Samsung teams to create, update, and drive product launches for all new products assigned.

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to Travel 15 -20% domestically
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 6 years of experience in consumer product marketing preferred
  • Experience with negotiations and professional presentation skills.
  • Experience with financial analysis and simulations
  • Professional experience with Microsoft Office: (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
  • Experience with planning, organizing, and prioritizing simultaneous projects/reports
  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with online and big-box CE retailers
