Sofidel America is seeking a highly experienced Paper Mill Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance activities within the paper mill operation. This role focuses on reliability, performance, and continuous operation of paper machines and mill systems, including wet end, dry end, stock preparation, and utilities.

You will direct maintenance planning and execution to maximize uptime while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of maintenance leadership in a paper mill.
• Direct experience with paper machine systems required.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and reliability maintenance knowledge.
• Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

Sofidel America is seeking a highly experienced Paper Mill Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance activities within the paper mill operation. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous operation of paper machines and associated mill systems.

This position is specific to paper mill operations and requires direct experience with paper machine maintenance, including wet end, dry end, stock preparation, and utilities systems. The position supports a high volume manufacturing environment with critical production assets and requires a strong focus on equipment reliability and operational performance.

The Paper Mill Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and executing all maintenance activities within the paper mill. This role is accountable for driving equipment uptime, long term asset reliability, and overall maintenance performance in support of production goals.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead all maintenance operations for paper machines and mill systems, including wet end, dry end, stock prep, and utilities
• Ensure reliability and performance of critical equipment such as refiners, pumps, vacuum systems, rolls, dryers, and winding systems
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and improve long term equipment performance
• Manage mechanical and electrical maintenance teams, including scheduling, training, and performance management
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and cost control
• Oversee maintenance planning and coordination of shutdowns, outages, and major repairs
• Ensure proper use and accuracy of CMMS systems for work orders, planning, and tracking
• Collaborate closely with operations leadership to support production goals and resolve equipment issues in real time
• Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and contractor support
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of maintenance leadership experience in a paper mill environment
• Direct experience with paper machine systems is required
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and reliability maintenance practices
• Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools
• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast paced industrial environment
• Strong problem solving and decision making skills
