Job description

Line Cook Position

Capital City Club Brookhaven's Culinary Department is looking to hire an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and team-focused individual for our night-time Line Cook position. This is a full-time role with flexibility for part-time applicants. Benefits include health, vision, dental, life insurance, 401(k) with company match, hot meals, and uniforms. The position involves high-volume cooking with excellent cross-training opportunities on sauté and grill stations.

Essential Functions:
  1. Set up station according to restaurant guidelines.
  2. Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
  3. Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
  4. Restock all items as needed throughout the shift.
  5. Clean and maintain station, practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
  6. Understand and properly use and maintain all equipment in the station.
  7. Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas.
  8. Perform additional responsibilities as requested by the Chef or Sous Chefs.
Qualifications:
  • Understanding of professional cooking and pizza making.
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
  • Minimum 1+ year of scratch-volume cooking experience.
  • Proficiency in English and professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and calmly under pressure.
  • Problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and organization.
  • Commitment to quality service and food and beverage knowledge.

This position requires standing 100% of the time, with occasional exposure to cold, heat, and water. Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds occasionally and 35 pounds regularly. Basic cooking directions must be understood in English, as this is a member-facing position.

Position reports to the Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef.
