Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Principal Product Manager to shape the architecture and expansion strategy for data center metro networks. You will own the internal network product roadmap, evaluate expansion proposals, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver value-driven investments.

The role requires deep metro network knowledge, strong financial judgment, and the ability to translate complex decisions into clear recommendations for senior leaders. This is a remote opportunity across the U.S.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of experience in product management, program management, network planning, or network engineering.
• 3+ years of experience supporting metro, data center, optical, or related network infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of metro network architecture and protection/restoration strategies.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional technical programs.
• Ability to build quantitative demand, investment, and ROI models.
• Understanding of capital economics and cost trade-offs.
• Experience translating complex tech/financial analysis into recommendations for senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Own the product strategy and multi-year architectural roadmap for data center metro network solutions.
• Translate topology and capacity decisions into repeatable configurations and designs.
• Lead cross-functional expansion programs from evaluation through delivery.
• Evaluate investments using demand, utilization, and ROI analysis.
• Establish a framework for prioritizing metro network upgrades and expansions.
• Build demand models combining contracted demand and market signals.
• Assess if internal platforms remain suitable for future growth.
• Partner with Product, Network Planning, Engineering, Finance, Operations, Sales to drive decisions.
