Meyer Jabara Hotels' Hilton Ocala is seeking a Houseperson to support our housekeeping team. This role focuses on deep cleaning, moving furnishings, and preparing rooms to meet Hilton standards, contributing to guest satisfaction.

You will work under supervision with maintenance for quarterly projects, follow safety guidelines, and assist with additional duties as needed. Basic English required; Spanish preferred; prior cleaning experience helpful but not required.

We are currently seeking a Housepersonto join our housekeeping team. This position plays an important role in supporting guest satisfaction by ensuring guestrooms receive detailed deep cleaning and preventive maintenance support that exceeds our guests' expectations.

Position Summary

The Houseperson works closely with the housekeeping and maintenance teams to perform quarterly deep-cleaning projects throughout guest rooms. This position is responsible for cleaning guestrooms from top to bottom, moving furniture, shampooing carpets, maintaining room furnishings, and ensuring all guest areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. The ultimate goal is to help achieve 100% guest satisfaction through exceptional room condition and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform deep cleaning and servicing of assigned guest rooms according to hotel standards and procedures.
• Move furniture as necessary to thoroughly clean walls, doors, and hard-to-reach areas.
• Clean bathrooms from top to bottom, including tubs, floors, fixtures, vents, and molding.
• Wash and sanitize furniture both inside and out.
• Rotate mattresses and remove, wash, and rehang curtains as scheduled.
• Clean windows, artwork, mirrors, closet tracks, and other guest room fixtures.
• Shampoo carpets and perform detailed room restoration projects.
• Make beds, dust, vacuum, and restock guest room items as required.
• Work collaboratively with the maintenance department on preventive maintenance initiatives.
• Follow all safety guidelines and proper handling procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Assist with additional housekeeping or hotel-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Basic English communication skills required.
• Spanish language skills are preferred.
• Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to follow cleaning procedures, safety guidelines, and hotel standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work is performed primarily in hotel guestrooms.
• Frequent walking, bending, twisting, reaching, handling, and lifting throughout the workday.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting required.
• Regular use of ladders, vacuums, cleaning chemicals, solvents, and related housekeeping equipment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding cleaning duties.
• Ability to safely perform repetitive motions, including squatting, kneeling, reaching, and pushing/pulling equipment.
