Job summary

The Press Hotel in Portland, ME is seeking a guest-focused Housekeeping Attendant to maintain high standards of cleanliness across public spaces and guest rooms. You will be responsible for cleaning public areas, replenishing supplies, and assisting guests with requests, with a strong emphasis on professionalism and courtesy.

  • Respond promptly to guest requests and service calls with courtesy.
  • Support the team by handling linens, trash, and restocking closets.
  • Perform daily housekeeping in occupied rooms and clean vacants as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Empty wastepaper baskets and ashtrays
  • Transport trash to waste disposal equipment
  • Dust and polish wooden surfaces and furniture
  • Replenish Housekeeping supplies in storage closets
  • Responsible formaintainingthe required property uniform and always ensuring a professional appearance and attitude
  • Responsible for courteous, efficient response always
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and service calls, delivering amenities, linens, towels, cribs, rollaway beds, and other requested items with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Support the Housekeeping team by collecting and distributing linens, removing trash and soiled linen, stocking housekeeping closets, and assisting Room Attendants as needed.
  • Perform daily housekeeping service in occupied guest rooms and clean vacant guest rooms as needed to support department operations and maintain service standards.

Qualifications
  • 1 year experience working in a housekeeping environment
  • Experience in a hotel is a plus.
  • Must be flexible to work all shifts including overnights,weekendsand holidays
  • Exhibitsa high levelof professionalism in all interactions/situations.
  • Alwaysmaintaina warm and friendly demeanor.
  • Reliable and have a sense of urgency.
  • Must be able to lift and carry upwards to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Must be able tomaintainconfidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop,squatand stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintainhigh standardsof personal appearance and grooming.
  • Comply withStandards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

The anticipated pay range for this position is between $20.00-22.00/hr. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity.
