Job Summary: The Cook II is responsible for assisting in the preparation of menu items and daily kitchen operations. This role includes maintaining kitchen equipment, managing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Execute cooking methods efficiently and cohesively as part of the line staff to ensure timely service and product quality.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic, technique, and teamwork, assisting colleagues as needed.
  • Follow standardized recipes and instructions from supervisors.
  • Determine proper cooking times, temperatures, and methods.
  • Assist in other departments when necessary based on business needs.
  • Participate in training and meetings, offering suggestions for improvement.
  • Maintain safety and sanitation standards according to regulations.
  • Properly store and rotate food to prevent waste and loss.
  • Prepare station for the following day.
  • Provide guest service information as per procedures.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Report equipment issues and safety hazards immediately.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and contribute suggestions.
  • Perform other duties as delegated promptly and properly.
  • Ensure hygiene by cleaning and sanitizing all food prep areas.
  • Wash, store, and organize kitchen appliances and utensils.
  • Assist with ingredient preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors and walls.
  • Assist with unloading and organizing food supplies.
  • Transfer ingredients from storage to kitchen as instructed.
  • Perform weekly deep cleans for sanitation.
  • Dispose of trash properly.
  • Maintain a clean, labeled cooler.
  • Perform any other assigned duties.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Relevant culinary qualifications and experience in hotels, resorts, or quality restaurants.
  • Experience in similar properties preferred.
  • Ability to read labels and communicate effectively.
  • ServSafe certification (can be obtained after employment).

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and under pressure.
  • Teamwork and personal cleanliness.
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations, sanitation, and food storage.
  • Proficient and safe use of sharp knives.
