Job summary

Heritage Oaks Hospital, part of the Universal Health Services family, is seeking an Assessment & Referral Registered Nurse (RN) to join the admissions team in Sacramento. The Admissions Nurse ensures the admission process is carried out properly, using the nursing process and adhering to standards of care, hospital policy, and timely, courteous admissions.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in psychiatric health care.
• Current California RN license; CPR certification; de-escalation training.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive admissions assessments and determines dispositions.
• Screen patients for admission into hospital programs using approved criteria.
• Review referrals for appropriateness with policy assistance; document actions.
