Job summary

Bay State Milling Company in Indiantown, FL is seeking a PLW Manager to lead packaging, loading and warehouse operations, ensuring safety, quality and on-time production. Qualifications

• B.S. degree preferred in a technical or engineering field.
• Minimum 10 years progressive packaging experience in the food industry or bulk powders.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, TPM or CI environments.
• Proven track record of cost reductions and increased productivity.
• Experience in a union environment with strong labor relations skills is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems.
• Strong analytical and computer skills including Excel, Word, and Access.

Responsibilities

• Provides day-to-day leadership for packing, bulk loading, and warehouse operations to meet production and customer requirements.
• Ensures compliance with safety policies, GMPs, SOPs, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develops and coordinates production schedules for packaging and bulk operations with the Mill Scheduler and other stakeholders.
• Plans and manages staffing and labor utilization while controlling overtime and costs.
• Owns department KPIs and drives safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction.
• Monitors equipment performance and coordinates with Maintenance for repairs and reliability.
• Oversees inventory accuracy, identification, rotation, storage, staging, and shipment.
• Leads problem-solving and corrective actions related to safety and equipment issues.
• Develops and implements SOPs and operating procedures for the department.
• Collaborates with Milling, Maintenance, Quality/Food Safety, Logistics, and Customer Support to resolve issues.
