Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled plumber to assemble, install and repair pipes, fittings and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems in line with customer specifications and plumbing codes.

Located in Huger, SC, this role requires reading plans, following safety protocols and collaborating with the team to ensure quality workmanship. Candidates should have either a plumbing course or at least 3 years in the field, be physically capable of heavy lifting, and able

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
Completed Plumbing course or 3 years field experience.
Ability to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor and coworkers.
Use math, ruler and calculator for geometry of piping.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

Study plans and drawings to determine work required and sequence of installation.
Inspect structures to avoid obstructions and weakening during piping.
Locate and mark pipe positions and passage holes; use level and plumb bob.
Select pipes, fittings, and supports; cut and thread pipes; bend and install.
Join pipes with fittings, solder, and caulks; test for leaks using water or air pressure.
Install and repair plumbing fixtures; mend burst pipes; unclog drains.
May perform welding of holding fixtures to steel structures.
Other duties as assigned.
