Job summary

Bloomfield Township is seeking a qualified Plumbing Subcode Official for either part-time or full-time employment. The role involves reviewing plans, conducting inspections of buildings, and enforcing the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code under the Construction Official’s direction.

The candidate must hold a valid Plumbing Inspector license of the appropriate level (HHS or ICS) or equivalent, with multi-discipline licensing a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid license as Plumbing Subcode Official and Plumbing Inspector license (HHS/ICS or ICS) issued by the NJ Department of Community Affairs.
• Multi-discipline licensing a plus.
• SDL software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and conduct inspections of buildings to ensure code compliance.
• Identify and determine causes of code violations and take enforcement actions.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain records; conduct health code inspections as needed.
