Job summary

The Jamar Company is seeking a Journeyman Plumbing Service Technician to service projects across the Iron Range and Duluth, MN regions, reporting from the Virginia, MN office. The role requires journeyman experience, MN license, and RPZ license, with a strong focus on safety and code compliance.

Responsibilities include installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in diverse facilities, reading blueprints, and coordinating with other trades.

At a Glance

Pay: $46.12 per hour per Local 589's CBA for Journeyman level; dependent on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.

Employment Type: Non-Exempt

Location: This role is responsible for providing service support across the Iron Range and Duluth, MN regions and will report out of our Virginia, MN office.

Required Experience: Journeyman level plumbing experience is required.

What You'll Do
  • Install, repair, and maintain
    plumbing and piping systems in commercial, institutional, industrial, and
    public buildings according to service orders.
  • Work collaboratively with
    other trades and laborers to ensure all specifications are met and work is completed efficiently.
  • Perform all tasks in
    compliance with industry standards, plumbing codes, and safety
    requirements.
  • Review and interpret work
    orders, completing the requested work with minimal direction, and enter/close work orders within the service software platform.
  • Operate a variety of tools
    and equipment necessary to perform plumbing and piping work.
  • Request and requisition
    repair parts and equipment as needed.
  • Follow all established safety
    procedures and comply with company policies and standards.
  • Consistently adhere to all
    safety protocols and vehicle
    related policies.
  • Perform additional duties and
    responsibilities as assigned.
What We're Looking For
  • Required Qualifications
    • Minnesota State Plumbing license is required.
    • RPZ license is required.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of
      plumbing codes and the ability to perform plumbing repairs, maintenance,
      and installation using proper techniques is required.
    • Working knowledge of
      low-pressure steam systems is required.
    • Must be able to read and
      interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference
      materials; perform necessary mathematical calculations; and accurately diagnose and resolve issues.
    • Ability to safely and
      effectively use a variety of hand and power tools.
    • Ability to learn and utilize
      a service software platform.
    • Must be willing and able to
      work varying shifts, including weekends, holidays, and emergency on call assignments as needed.
    • Strong interpersonal skills,
      with the ability to represent the company professionally, ethically, and in alignment with our values and mission.
    • Must join Local 589 union.
    • Must possess and maintain a
      valid state driver's license.
