Job summary

Southern Air LLC in Shreveport, LA is seeking Plumbing Technicians to service residential plumbing systems, diagnose issues, install and repair fixtures, and communicate options with customers. You will maintain safety, follow codes, mentor apprentices, and collaborate with Customer Service and Dispatch to drive growth.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, timely repairs, pricing approvals, and documenting work with photos.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in diagnostic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of residential plumbing, water heaters, tankless, and filtration systems.
• Plumbing license required.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to present repair vs replacement options clearly to customers.
• Familiarity with drain machines, cameras and locator equipment.
• Safe use and maintenance of required tools.
• High school diploma or GED.

• Perform timely and accurate repairs to resolve plumbing and drain issues.
• Explain to customers the services being performed and provide pricing for approval before work begins.
• Establish rapport to upsell appropriate products and services.
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes and regulations.
• Educate customers on financing options and maintenance plans.
• Maintain a professional appearance and vehicle cleanliness.
• Collaborate with Customer Service and Dispatch for smooth operations.
• Document services with before/after photos and detailed records.
• Demonstrate safety consciousness on and off the job.
• Participate in training sessions and team meetings.

Who You Are

Plumbing Technicians will be responsible for all aspects of the service, maintenance, inspection, operation, and repair of the plumbing systems in residential homes. This includes installing and repairing sinks, water heaters, toilets, other plumbing fixtures, cleaning drains, as well as appliances including dishwashers and garbage disposals. You will accurately diagnose plumbing problems and communicate with clients the options and upgrades that increase safety and enhance the quality/health of life for homeowners.

Essential Job Functions

• Execute effective troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes of plumbing issues, including leak detection
• Perform timely and accurate repairs to resolve plumbing and drain issues
• Always explain to the customer what service you are performing and give exact prices & gain approval before doing the work
• Establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services for the customer's needs and wants
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures
• Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes and regulations
• Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and maintenance plans.
• Show yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business
• Maintain your truck so that it is always neat and clean on the inside and outside
• Work alongside Customer Service and Dispatch team to ensure overall success of the business
• Maintain detailed records of services, including documenting pictures of before and after services have been completed
• Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving
• Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings and retreats
• Train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with diagnostic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of residential plumbing, water heaters, tankless, and filtration
• Plumbing License
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to provide repair versus replacement options to customers
• Knowledge of drain machines, camera, and locator equipment
• Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of required tools
• High School Diploma or GED
• Clean driving record
• Basic computer skills, ability to use an iPad to document work
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in the English language

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation & Hours

• Revenue Sharing
• Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (flexible start and end times depending on business needs)
• Days: Monday - Friday, on call rotation (weekday and weekends)
