Job summary

Fulkerson Plumbing & Air Conditioning is looking for a motivated Plumbing Service Helper to support residential and light commercial service calls in Roswell, NM. This entry-level role provides hands-on training to develop plumbing skills while supporting installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks.

You will learn under licensed technicians, handle basic tasks, transport tools, ensure safe work areas, and communicate professionally with customers and team members.

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing or trade-related fields is helpful but not required.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform physical tasks on a daily basis.
• Wamiliarity with safety policies and basic hand tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist plumbing technicians with service, repair, and installation work.
• Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
• Prepare and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Assist with basic plumbing tasks under supervision of a licensed technician.
• Retrieve tools, parts, and materials needed during service calls.
• Support fixture removal, pipe preparation, cleanup, and related tasks.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with technicians, supervisors, and office staff.
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers.

We are seeking a motivated Plumbing Service Helper who is interested in learning the plumbing trade and building a long-term career in the industry.
Position Summary
The Plumbing Service Helper assists experienced plumbing technicians with residential and light commercial service calls. This entry-level position provides hands-on training and opportunities to develop technical skills while supporting plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance services.

Essential Job Duties

• Assist plumbing technicians with service, repair, and installation work
• Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites
• Prepare and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Assist with basic plumbing tasks under the direction of a licensed technician
• Retrieve tools, parts, and materials needed during service calls
• Help with fixture removal, pipe preparation, cleanup, and related support tasks
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition
• Follow company safety policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively with technicians, supervisors, and office staff
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous plumbing, construction, or trade-related experience is helpful but not required
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending, and kneeling
• Ability to work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor job sites
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude or experience using hand and power tools
• Familiarity with plumbing materials and equipment
• Customer service experience
• Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move materials, tools, and equipment required for plumbing work
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing
• Ability to work in confined spaces such as crawl spaces when necessary
• Ability to work in varying weather and temperature conditions
• Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods throughout the workday
