Job summary

Fulkerson Plumbing & Air Conditioning in Roswell, NM is seeking an HVAC Installer Technician to join our team. This full-time role installs residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems, reads blueprints, and ensures quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

You will work with refrigerant lines, ductwork, wiring, and sheet metal; perform startup and testing; mentor helpers as needed; and uphold safety and company standards. EPA certification and NM licensure are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install residential and light commercial HVAC equipment (furnaces, air handlers, condensers, coils, heat pumps).

• Perform low- and line-voltage wiring for installations.
• Fabricate and install sheet metal and flexible duct systems.
• Read blueprints and installation diagrams; ensure proper operation through startups and testing.

Pay: $19.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Position Summary

The HVAC Installer Technician is responsible for installing residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Duties

• Install residential and light commercial HVAC equipment, including furnaces, air handlers, condensers, coils, heat pumps, and related components
• Install and connect refrigerant lines, ductwork, thermostats, indoor air quality products, and HVAC accessories
• Perform low-voltage and line-voltage wiring associated with HVAC installations
• Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal and flexible duct systems as required
• Install and connect gas piping in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards
• Perform system start-ups, testing, and equipment verification to ensure proper operation
• Read and interpret blueprints, job specifications, and installation diagrams
• Load, transport, and organize materials, tools, and equipment needed for installation projects
• Complete installation documentation and job-related paperwork accurately and timely
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean and organized condition
• Assist with training and mentoring installation helpers as needed
• Follow company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards
• Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• One to three years of HVAC installation experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• EPA Certification preferred
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Knowledge of residential and light commercial HVAC installation practices
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship

Preferred Qualifications

• New Mexico Journeyman License
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication and duct system installation
• Experience installing heat pumps, gas furnaces, package units, and mini-split systems
• Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move materials, tools, and equipment required for HVAC installation work
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing
• Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and other confined spaces when necessary
• Ability to work at elevated heights using ladders and related equipment
• Ability to work in varying weather and temperature conditions
• Ability to perform physical tasks throughout the workday
