Job summary

Willard Heating and Cooling is seeking a Plumbing Selling Technician to provide exceptional service while identifying plumbing solutions that improve performance and energy efficiency for customers’ systems. You will combine plumbing expertise with sales skills to drive upgrades, replacements, and maintenance plans.

The role emphasizes value-driven conversations, building long-lasting relationships, and growing the business through customer-centric solutions and trust.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of Plumbing Service experience.
• 1+ years of direct homeowner sales experience in-home.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances.
• Engage customers in meaningful conversations about Plumbing systems and improvements.
• Identify and present Plumbing products and service recommendations; close sales for upgrades and maintenance plans.
• Build rapport with customers and provide tailored solutions with clear, honest advice.
• Generate new business opportunities through referrals and proactive follow-ups.
• Coordinate with dispatch and sales teams for scheduling and follow-up.
• Meet and exceed personal sales goals while maintaining high technical service standards.

Who You Are

As a Plumbing Selling Technician you will play a key role in providing exceptional service while also identifying and recommending Plumbing solutions that improve the performance and energy efficiency of our customers' systems. This is not your typical technician role—it's about offering value-driven solutions, ensuring customers’ systems run at peak performance, and closing sales that make sense for the customer’s needs.

You’ll combine your Plumbing expertise with sales techniques to identify opportunities for service upgrades, system replacements, and other solutions that enhance the overall customer experience. Your goal? To deliver excellent service while building long-lasting relationships and growing the business.

Essential Job Functions

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances

• Ensure all work complies with industry standards and company protocols

• Engage customers in meaningful conversations about their Plumbing systems, educating them on potential improvements, upgrades, or repairs that will benefit them in the long run

• Identify and present Plumbing products and service recommendations based on customer needs and system analysis. Close sales for system upgrades, new equipment installations, and preventative maintenance plans.

• Establish rapport and trust with customers by offering tailored solutions, handling objections with professionalism, and providing clear, honest advice.

• Generate new business opportunities through customer referrals, follow-ups, and actively seeking potential service or upgrade opportunities while on the job.

• Work closely with our dispatch and sales teams to ensure timely scheduling and seamless follow-up on leads or job opportunities.

• Meet and exceed personal sales goals while maintaining high standards of technical service.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

• 1+ years of Plumbing Service experience

• 1+ years of proven success in selling direct to homeowners via in-home presentation

• Strong sales, customer service, and closing skills

• Exceptional communication/interpersonal skills

• Assertive and confident personality

• Ability to exercise independent judgment and make appropriate decisions

• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks accurately

• Commitment to company values

• Ability to climb into and through attics and crawl spaces

• Ability to work outside and in extreme temperatures

• Must have a clean driving record.

• Basic computer skills

• Reliable & punctual attendance

• Ability to be flexible in working a variable schedule including evenings and rotational weekends

• Fluent ability to speak, read, and write in the English language

Preferred Qualifications:

• Service Titan experience

Compensation & Hours

• Pay: Hourly + Commissions

• Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (flexible start and end times depending on business needs)

• Days: Monday - Friday with occasional weekends
