U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a licensed Plumber in the Minneapolis VA HealthCare System Pipe Shop.

The role covers installation, modification, repair and maintenance of plumbing and piping systems, including medical gas, fire suppression, and water distribution, to support facility infrastructure and patient care areas. The incumbent will install, modify, retrofit, repair, and maintain systems; work under safety protocols; and coordinate with other trades and vendors as

Responsibilities

Medical Gas Systems: Maintains and repairs piped medical gas systems including oxygen, nitrous oxide, and vacuum systems.
Responds to alarms, traces pressure drops, tests outlets with flow meters, and isolates faulty zones.
Adjusts regulator pressures, calibrates alarm thresholds, and verifies flow rates at outlets.
Coordinates with third-party vendors for annual certification and addresses deficiencies.
Liquid Systems: Maintains and repairs potable water, RO/DI systems, and sanitary waste systems.
