Job summary

The City of Farmington is seeking a Maintenance Technician-Plumber to perform plumbing and mechanical maintenance at City facilities. Under the Lead Plumber, you will repair piping, fixtures, gas systems, and chiller/heating equipment, and may supervise staff on larger projects.

The role requires high school graduate or GED, 2 years in plumbing/maintenance, NM driver license, and licenses to become Journeyman Plumber and Journeyman Gas Fitter within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent and two years of experience in plumbing and maintenance.
• Valid New Mexico driver's license with acceptable driving record for the past three years.
• Must possess or obtain NM Journeyman Plumber and Journeyman Gas Fitter licenses within one year of hire.
• Knowledge of Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes and Standards.
• Must possess strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with staff and the public.
• Repairs and maintains plumbing and mechanical equipment at City facilities.
• Repairs and replaces plumbing fixtures, gas and related systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance and inspections on motors and related equipment.
• Operates a range of vehicles and small equipment as needed.
