Job summary

Midstate Mechanical, LLC in the Greater Phoenix area is seeking an experienced Plumbing Journeyman for our commercial construction team. This full-time, field-based role installs, maintains, and repairs commercial plumbing systems in accordance with codes and project specs.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing layouts, installations, testing, and coordinating with other trades. The candidate should travel daily to jobsites and mentor apprentices as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of commercial plumbing experience.
• Current City of Phoenix Journeyman Plumbing License.
• OSHA 30 Certification.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license with clean record.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong knowledge of UPC and local codes.
• Ability to read blueprints, perform layouts, and troubleshoot installations.
• Proficiency with plumbing tools and commercial construction practices.
• Willingness to travel daily to Greater Phoenix jobsites.

Plumbing Journeyman - Commercial Construction

Midstate Mechanical LLC is seeking an experienced Plumbing Journeyman to join our commercial construction team in the Greater Phoenix area. This full-time, field-based position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial plumbing systems while ensuring compliance with project specifications, plumbing codes, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install domestic water, sanitary waste, storm drainage, natural gas, and specialty piping systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
• Perform plumbing system layouts, installations, pressure testing, and inspections.
• Install plumbing fixtures, valves, pumps, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial plumbing systems.
• Coordinate materials, scheduling, and installations with supervisors and other trades.
• Maintain quality workmanship, jobsite safety, and project documentation.
• Assist with training and mentoring plumbing apprentices.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 years of commercial plumbing experience.

• Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), and local codes.
• Ability to independently read blueprints, perform system layouts, and troubleshoot plumbing installations.
• Proficiency with plumbing tools, equipment, and commercial construction practices.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel daily to commercial jobsites throughout the Greater Phoenix area.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Medical Gas Certification and installation experience (not required).
• Completion of an accredited Plumbing Apprenticeship Program.
• Forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift certifications.
• Experience mentoring apprentices and coordinating with other construction trades.
