Job description

Job Description:

As a Plumbing Instructor, you will guide students in their journey towards entry in the trade. Your primary responsibility is to instruct students in both theory and hands-on curriculum within a classroom environment. With passion and expertise, you explain and demonstrate various jobs and tasks to be performed, emphasizing safety at every step and reviewing job safety analysis with each student.

You will also organize and provide supplemental training when necessary, and conduct refresher sessions when required. Ensuring tools and equipment are in optimal condition for both performance and safety is a key part of your role. You will supervise students, assigning tasks and schedules, and ensuring they follow curriculum guidelines and safety standards diligently. You will maintain attendance records and grade entries in accordance with state and accrediting standards. Additionally, you will uphold established rules and conduct expectations within the school.

A Plumbing Instructor will prepare and educate students to assume entry-level positions in the trade.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Thorough understanding of the correct and safe operation of all manually operated and power-related tools and equipment, along with proper use of safety equipment/apparel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Classroom
  • 7+ years of experience in the trade
  • Ability to teach and work with a diverse student population with varying skills and abilities
  • Effective communication of complex ideas and concepts to students
  • Ability to objectively evaluate and grade student performance against established standards
