Job summary

Somerville Public Schools is seeking a Plumbing Instructor to deliver high-quality CTE instruction aligned with MA CVTE frameworks. You will develop students' technical proficiency, professionalism, and workplace readiness while coordinating with partners, families, and staff.

The role includes instruction across classroom and lab settings, adherence to safety codes, and collaboration with the HVAC program to meet enrollment needs and curriculum improvements.

Qualifications

• Hold or be eligible to obtain MA DESE Vocational Technical Teacher License in Plumbing.
• Minimum of five years of full-time plumbing trade experience.
• Possess MA Journeyman and Master Plumber licenses with passing exam scores.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and deliver engaging plumbing instruction aligned with MA CVTE.
• Teach plumbing theory, safety, codes, and industry best practices for licensure.
• Develop lesson plans with demonstrations and hands-on labs.
• Maintain a safe classroom and laboratory environment.
• Assess learning with assessments and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with HVAC program as needed and participate in district initiatives.
