Job summary

Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational School is seeking a Plumbing Instructor to train students for employment or further education in plumbing, develop instructional materials, and assess progress toward learning goals.

Must have 5+ years of plumbing experience and MA licenses; DESE certification is required. Teaching experience is a plus, and collaboration with the program advisory board is encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five (5) years full-time employment experience (within the last seven years) directly related to plumbing.
• Possession of current Massachusetts Journeyman Plumber license.
• Possession of current Massachusetts Master Plumber license.
• Teaching experience a plus.
• Plumbing Vocational Technical certification from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and provide appropriate learning experiences within assigned area of responsibility.
• Teach technical skills to provide students with the competence to become skilled in their field.
• Develop lesson plans and organize class time for demonstrations, hands-on practice, and assessments.
• Continuously improve instruction, curriculum, and equipment to keep the program current with industry trends.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated locations and times.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students.
