Job Summary

The Residential Installation Plumber is responsible for installation and inspection of tub sets and trims, maintenance of water distribution and sanitary plumbing systems. Responsible for interpreting blueprints to adhere to building specifications.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Installation and maintenance of plumbing systems (water distribution and sanitary systems).


• Inspects drainage and other plumbing systems for compliance with local and national regulations.


• Interprets blueprints and building specifications for installation of drainage systems and water distribution as well as other plumbing materials.


• Uses tools and equipment such as saws and cutters to perform plumbing installs and repairs.


• Measures and modifies pipes by cutting, threading, or bending using specialized tools.


• Repairs and replaces damaged parts.


• Trains new apprentices in proper plumbing techniques and practices.


• Tests plumbing and other installed fixtures to ensure proper functioning.


• Follows state laws and regulations and adheres to local building codes.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Extensive knowledge of plumbing installations and repair of plumbing systems.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Maintains truck neatly with a complete inventory.


• Excellent mechanical skills.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• 3 years plumbing experience.


• Current driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Physical Requirements

• Able to climb and work off ladders.


• Physically able to work with tools and equipment.


• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
