Job description

Our company is a leading mechanical contractor specializing in Process Piping, HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems, servicing the semiconductor, mission critical, healthcare, and higher education sectors.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Plumbing or HVAC Design Engineer to serve as a Preconstruction Manager with our team. No prior experience in preconstruction functions is required. We are looking for a candidate who wishes to work early in project development with our clients to develop scopes and budgets supporting our projects from design to construction. A willingness to learn preconstruction functions and build client relationships is the most important factor for our team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and manage project budgets and schedules during the preconstruction phase.
  2. Collaborate with clients, architects, and subcontractors to determine project requirements and scope.
  3. Prepare and review detailed cost estimates and proposals.
  4. Conduct value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  5. Coordinate and lead preconstruction meetings with stakeholders.
  6. Assist in the selection and procurement of subcontractors and materials.
  7. Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
  8. Provide technical support and guidance to the project team.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC design and engineering.
  3. Strong understanding of HVAC principles, codes, and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.).
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  7. Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain one is preferred.
