Job summary

Hajoca Corporation is seeking a Counter Salesperson at the Wyoming, MI location (Richards Plumbing & Heating Supply). The role focuses on helping customers, processing sales orders, and building lasting relationships with clients while maintaining accurate inventory and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of customer service or counter sales experience and a proactive approach to upselling related products.

Qualifications

• 1+ years' experience in customer service or counter sales; contractor sales preferred.
• Outstanding customer service, verbal communication, and listening skills.
• Knowledge of products; ability to suggest related items.
• Ability to build positive relationships with customers, vendors and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Confidently assist customers who purchase and/or pick up merchandise at the Profit Center.
• Accurately process and fill Sales Orders generated at the sales counter.
• Attract and retain customers.
• Work with the PCM to establish revenue and margin targets.
• Verify the Pick Ticket ship date and obtain customer signature before releasing material.
• Provide customers with information on product specifications, pricing, and availability.
• Keep the counter area and displays clean, stocked, and safely displayed.
• Communicate changes in a customer's business that might affect credit risk to management.
• Process cash sale returns and refund paperwork.
• Inform supervisor of inventory levels or stock depletions that could impact service levels.
• Assist coworkers in servicing customers including calls, stocking, and pulling orders.
• Complete required safety and compliance training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
