Position Overview

Comfort Systems USA Shoffner is looking for a Plumbing Foreman to join the team in the Asheville, NC area. This is a permanent, full‑time position. We want someone who will learn and grow with us. You’ll create with your hands, work outdoors in different environments, and have the opportunity to lead a crew and oversee one of our construction sites. The role is for candidates local to Asheville – we are not looking for travelling tradespeople. Military Veterans are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Safety is our #1 priority: ensure everyone works safely and wears appropriate PPE at all times.
• Lead a crew of Plumbing Journeymen and Apprentices on new commercial construction projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Track and report employee hours worked.
• Assign tasks to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Provide on‑the‑job training for team members.
• Order material ahead of time when it’s needed.
• Install different piping materials.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial plumbing experience.
• Prior experience leading a team (highly preferred).
• Track record of completing projects on schedule.
• Thorough knowledge of plumbing codes and best practices.
• Maintain a drug‑free workplace.
• Punctual, reliable, and able to work in extremes of heat, cold, and bad weather, indoors and outdoors.
• Stand, walk, and lift/carry up to 60 lbs throughout the workday; work efficiently in confined spaces.
• Willingness to be cross‑trained in different trades.
• Ability to solve problems and make decisions that directly impact the project.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with tasks such as working above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling, and bending.
