Job summary

Valley Plumbing is seeking an experienced Excavation Technician who will work in the field on sewer laterals and water mains. You’ll dig trenches, install and repair lines, and use cameras and lining tools to diagnose issues.

The job requires reading plans, performing equipment checks, and adapting to confined spaces and demanding conditions. We value hands-on problem solving, physical stamina, and a commitment to doing the job right the first time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL license preferred but not required.
• Service plumbing experience is a plus.

About the Role:

We’re looking for experienced Excavation Technicians who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty. This role involves more than operating equipment—you’ll be in the trenches working on sewer laterals, main water lines, and other essential services. What You’ll Do:

• Dig trenches and excavate by hand or with equipment, as needed.
• Install and repair sewer laterals, main water lines, and stop-and-waste systems.
• Utilize and maintain tools like cameras, missiles, and liners.
• Read and follow job plans and specifications.
• Perform routine equipment checks and request necessary repairs.
• Work in confined spaces and adapt to physical demands as the job requires.

What We’re Looking For:

• Familiarity with sewer laterals, water mains, and excavation techniques.
• Knowledge of tools like sewer cameras, missile/mole, and lining equipment.
• Ability to dig and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL license preferred but not required.
• Service plumbing experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Comfortable with digging, kneeling, crouching, and working in trenches.
• Capable of lifting and carrying heavy materials.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and balance.
