Job summary

EwingCole is seeking a Plumbing Engineer in Training I for its Irvine office. You will assist Project Engineers on design and documentation tasks toward licensure and gain experience toward your P.E.

The role involves plumbing and fire suppression load calculations, piping layout, equipment room design, and draft detailing, with opportunities for seminars, training, and a hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Bachelor of Architectural Engineering.
• EIT status or eligible to sit for the EIT exam.
• 0–3 years of related experience; strong technical capacity; knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing and fire suppression load calculations.
• Perform HVAC load calculations.
• Size and layout plumbing, HVAC, and fire suppression piping
• Layout equipment rooms with proper clearances and access.
• Design and draft details, sections, etc.
• Confer with project team members and other engineering staff and prepare design modifications as required.
• Survey existing conditions.
• Attend seminars and continuing education programs.
• Participate in design, analysis and documentation training.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Summary

The Plumbing Engineer in Training I works with Project Engineers on multiple design and documentation tasks while gaining experience toward their P.E.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Bachelor of Architectural Engineering.
• E.I.T. (or qualified to sit for E.I.T.)
• 0 to 3 years' experience
• Strong Technical Capacity
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit
