Job summary

Barton Associates in Philadelphia seeks a Plumbing Designer to design and document plumbing systems for diverse building projects, from initial layout to construction administration. Fire protection experience is preferred, with HVAC experience beneficial.

The role requires applying plumbing codes, performing system calculations, and coordinating with project teams to ensure successful design delivery.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience designing plumbing systems for building projects.
• Working knowledge of plumbing codes (IPC, NFPA 99 considerations).
• Strong communication and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing systems including domestic water, waste, vent, drainage, and gas distribution.
• Layout sanitary and vent systems with appropriate strategies.
• Size piping and perform load calculations and regulator selection.
• Produce construction documents in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients throughout project execution.
• Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and support construction administration.
