Job Summary:

The Ainsworth family is looking for an energetic team member who is a skilled tradesperson in charge of installing, inspecting and repairing pipes and plumbing systems to ensure all a building’s fixtures operate correctly. Their duties include finding the source of leaks and blockages, fixing or replacing broken parts, and testing the plumbing system. This role will include oversight of repairs and work in a manner to provide guidance and insight to fellow technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installing, inspecting, and repairing pipes and plumbing systems.
2. Finding and correcting the source of leaks and blockages and other plumbing issues.
3. Fixing or replacing broken parts.
4. Testing the plumbing system.
5. Reading and interpreting blueprints.
6. Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
7. Delegating and directing the activities of outside contractors where needed including setting priorities, performing quality control checks and certifying invoices.
8. Completion of electronic or paper-based records of maintenance tasks.
9. Diagnosing plumbing issues and correcting them.
10. Planning and directing maintenance operations under supervision.
11. Problem solving for the team.
12. Instructing team members on proper maintenance techniques and providing hands-on training.

Qualifications:

1. A high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Must hold Journeyman or greater certification in the province of employment (Canada).
3. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
4. 5+ years’ experience in the plumbing/maintenance field.
5. Skills in problem-solving, troubleshooting, and repairing or replacing faulty parts.
6. Ideally 1+ years of leadership involvement leading a maintenance support team.
7. Coordinating efforts to uphold operational standards.
8. Responding promptly to maintenance issues.
9. Blend of technical expertise and leadership skills.
10. Prioritizing tasks effectively.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
12. Advanced organizational skills.
