ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation

Read blueprints and drawings to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste/vent systems. Install pipes, assemblies, and fittings.

Maintenance & Repair

Diagnose and resolve issues such as leaks, clogs, or broken pipes. Replace or repair steam, water, or gas systems and related equipment like water heaters and pumps.

System Testing

Use pressure gauges and other tools to detect leaks and ensure systems meet safety and quality standards.

Compliance

Ensure all work is performed according to local plumbing codes and safety regulations.

Customer Service

Provide cost estimates to clients, explain repairs, and maintain a professional demeanor while working on-site.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of water distribution, drainage, and venting systems. Proficiency with hand and power tools (pipe cutters, wrenches, snakes, etc.). Physical Stamina: Ability to work in confined spaces, lift heavy materials, and stand or kneel for extended periods. Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic skills to identify the root cause of complex plumbing failures quickly. Certifications: Most roles require a high school diploma or GED and the completion of a formal apprenticeship or vocational training. A State Journeyman or Master Plumber license is often required for senior roles.

• First-Time Fix Rate: Successfully resolving the issue during the initial visit.
• Code Compliance: Zero violations during official inspections.
• Safety Record: Maintaining a workspace free of accidents or hazardous leaks.

• Unclogging high-pressure sewer lines using hydro-jetting equipment.
• Installing and certifying backflow prevention devices.
• Soldering copper piping or joining PEX and PVC lines.
• Repairing or replacing commercial-grade water heaters and boilers.
