Position is located with PINECREST SUPPORTS & SERVICES CENTER.

Location: LDH Plumbing Department

SHIFT: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM PASS DAYS: Saturday / Sunday

Plumber / Pipefitter Master: $21.05 Hourly - $37.88 Hourly

This position may be filled by Detail, Probation, Promotion, Demotion, or Lateral Transfer. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.

No Civil Service test score is required to be considered for this vacancy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of the required experience in pipefitting, steam fitting, or plumbing.

Three years of experience or training in pipefitting, steam fitting, or plumbing.

Function of Work:
To perform highly skilled, technical installations, repairs, and modifications to all plumbing systems, including above and below ground, low and high pressure steam, gas, and water systems for a large state agency complex, using multiple trades skills (plumbing, welding, insulating, pipefitting).

Level of Work:
Advanced.

Supervision Received:
Broad review from a Plumber/Pipefitter Foreman.

Supervision Exercised:
Lead worker over Plumber/Pipefitter and Apprentices.

Location of Work:
May be used by all state agencies.

Job Distinctions:
Differs from Plumber/Pipefitter Foreman by the lack of supervision and administrative duties.
Differs from Plumber/Pipefitter by performing more difficult tasks and leading responsibilities.
Performs repairs, troubleshooting, and modifications to above and below ground systems, including tunnel installations.

Performs repairs on high and low pressure gas, steam, and water systems.

Maintains and repairs domestic and commercial hot water heaters and boilers, ensuring compliance with codes and insurance standards.

Works from complex plans and specifications.

Installs and repairs steam regulators, traps, and relief valves.

Assembles metal and plastic pressure and sewage piping using threaded joints, soldering, clamps, bonds, leaded joints, etc.

Performs insulation and welding work.

Repairs fire mains and installs kicker blocks and valves.

Performs repairs, replacements, and maintenance of steam sterilizers and calibrates controls.

Maintains and installs medical air lines, vacuum lines, nitrous oxide, and oxygen systems.
