Job summary

Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA, seeks a Plumber/Pipefitter Foreman to lead the plumbing and pipefitting team keeping the campus running. You will oversee daily maintenance, repairs, and installations while guiding staff and coordinating projects across campus.

The role requires four years of pipefitting/plumbing experience, with on-the-job experience and supervision duties. Appointment type is Probational, with a starting hourly rate of $24.10.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience or training in pipefitting, steam fitting, or plumbing.
• Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Plumber Pipefitters Masters and Plumber Pipefitter, assigns work details, issue work order, inspects job performed by Plumber Pipefitter Masters and Plumber Pipefitter daily; oversee all work orders issued during the work hours, assist contractors as needed; monitor installations of pipes and all new plumbing inside and outside of buildings located on the SUBR Campus.
• Inspects damages to buildings to determine the materials, plumbing and piping required; submits quotes for all repairs and replacements needed to complete on site projects. Reads blueprints as needed, submits data pertaining to ongoing projects, the cost and estimated ending time.
• Performs administrative functions, such as; approves leaves, monitoring employees attendance and submitting payroll for Banner, submits yearly employee job expectations and evaluations.
• Performs other related work as directed or required.
