Job summary

American Leak Detection is seeking motivated plumbers to join our field team serving Santa Clara, Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties. You’ll perform installation of water monitoring systems and leak‑detection repairs, with a fully equipped company vehicle provided.

We value mechanically inclined individuals who can work outdoors, swim when needed, and adapt to a flexible schedule including nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined and able to use power tools.
• Experience with pool-related work is a plus.
• Ability to swim and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Willing to work nights or weekends as customer needs.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Install water monitoring systems and automatic shut-off devices.
• Perform slab and service line repairs on residential/commercial sites.
• Repair pools/spas, including spot repairs and repipes.
• Locate underground leaks with specialized equipment.
• Swim for detection/repair work as needed.
• Communicate with management, colleagues, and customers.
• Provide professional customer service and work outdoors.

Base Salary

• Starting ($30-$35hrly)

In the job you’ll be asked to do:

• Perform installs of water monitoring systems and automatic water shut off devices on residential and commercial buildings
• Perform slab and service line repairs for residential and commercial buildings
• Perform full scope pool and spa repairs. This includes but is not limited to; spot repairs, repipes, skimmer and wall fitting replacements, above and below ground repairs, manifold rebuilds
• Master underground leak locating equipment
• Swim in pools for detection or repair services
• Communicate with management, colleagues, and customers
• Provides professional courteous customer service
• Work outdoors & away from the office

Desired Qualifications

• Proficient in patch back of a variety of pool deck surfaces including exposed aggregate and kool deck
• Any plumbing, mechanical, pool experience and construction background is a big plus
• Exceptional team player; fun, energetic, goal oriented, positive, optimistic, and great attitude!
• Current Driver’s License, with relatively clean driving record
• Ability to create well written and concise reports to effectively describe the leak issue or repair
• Self-motivated, enjoy working independently, self-starter, organized, and enjoys being self-directed
• Ability to swim, (diving certificate a plus)
• Neat appearance / Has a high standard of professionalism and character
• Mechanically inclined, knows how to use a variety of tools
• Ability to take on physical work and capable of moving/lifting up to 100 pounds
