A leading company is seeking a skilled plumber responsible for installing and maintaining plumbing systems across the campus. The role requires a strong understanding of plumbing codes and the ability to work with various materials. Candidates should have a plumbing diploma and relevant licenses, along with experience in the field. This position involves responding to emergency calls and ensuring the proper functioning of all plumbing fixtures and systems.
Responsible for materials, fixtures used in the installation, removal, maintenance, extension, and alternative of plumbing systems, including all piping fixtures, fixed appliances, and appurtenances related to sanitary drainage, storm drainage, special wastes, venting systems, and water supply systems. Working knowledge of chilled water supply and returns is also required.
Education: Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma in Plumbing preferred. Experience can substitute for a degree.
Licenses and Credentials: Journeyman Plumber license preferred; Master Plumber license preferred; certifications such as ASSE 6010, ASME IX Brazer, and Wastewater Treatment Operator preferred; Driver's license for specific states may be required.
Experience: Completion of a three-year apprenticeship in plumbing plus 1-2 years of formal training; 2-3 years of relevant work experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to read blueprints, knowledge of Massachusetts plumbing codes, physical strength, ability to work overtime, and ability to provide own tools. Must be able to lift over seventy pounds occasionally.
