Job description

Job Title: Multi-Craft Plumber Foreman

Department: Operations

Reports To: General Superintendent/Project Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary:

At Cherokee Millwright, we are a multi-craft company focused on meeting our customers' needs by providing multi-trades personnel for various job requests. All field employees are cross-trained in trades such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, civil, and more. This position primarily oversees and works alongside Multi-Craft Plumbers in installing plumbing systems with copper, PVC, CPVC, etc., including underground and above ground, rough-in to trim. Skills may include Medical Gas brazing, commercial plumbing, and reading blueprints and specifications, but the role is not limited to these skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the assembly, installation, and repair of plumbing, water flow, and drainage systems complying with city, state, and federal codes.
  • Knowledge of working with copper, galvanized, soldering, stainless steel, PVC pipes, etc.
  • Tasks include trenching for pipelines and installing hardware for fixtures in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Report accidents, near misses, and injuries; cooperate with investigations.
  • Compile operational and personnel data such as time worked, jobs, inventory, and maintenance information.
  • Address employee work-related concerns, provide mentoring, and conduct or arrange safety and equipment training.
  • Additional skills in other crafts are expected to meet customer needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversees daily work of 1-12 employees, reports performance, trains staff, plans and assigns work, and resolves issues or reports them for assistance.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or related experience; at least two years in the trade.

Reasoning Ability:

Capable of applying common sense to follow instructions and solve problems involving multiple variables in standard situations.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, talk, and hear. Occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must lift/move up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity required includes close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment:

Frequent exposure to mechanical parts and outdoor weather; occasional exposure to high places, fumes, extreme heat, electrical hazards, and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
