Job summary

SSC Services for Education in Rock Hill, SC is hiring immediately for a full-time Plumber Apprentice at Winthrop University. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with potential openings at other district locations.

You will work under a Plumber Senior Technician in an apprentice program; prior plumbing experience preferred. The role includes hands-on maintenance, leaks repair, and documenting tasks in CMMS.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be registered in a Plumber Apprentice Program with USDOL.
• Rudimentary ability to utilize hand-operated construction equipment.
• Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop and perform strenuous labor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Identify leaks and make repairs.
• Repair or replace parts.
• Determine the equipment, tools or materials needed for tasks.
• Solve simple plumbing problems.
• Maintain OJT logs, perform rounds, and complete maintenance work orders, tests, and inspections.
• Maintain facility and campus grounds, shops, and mechanical areas in a clean and safe manner.
• Attend classroom a minimum of 144 hours per year.
• Learn and utilize the site CMMS.
• Update work statuses and documents tasks completed in the CMMS utilizing a mobile device in real time.
• Performs other duties as assigned

• We are hiring immediately for full time PLUMBER APPRENTICE positions.
• Location: Winthrop University - 701 Oakland Avenue, Rock Hills, SC 29730. (Openings at other locations within school district available) Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full time schedule; Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. More details upon interview. (Full and Part Time with the flexibility to meet most scheduling needs)
• Requirement: Prior plumbing experience is preferred.
• Pay Range: $25.00 per hour to $28.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: The Plumber Apprentice performs a variety of Plumber maintenance duties for the facility’s Maintenance Department, and is assigned to work for a Plumber Senior Technician on a regular basis. The Plumber Apprentice associate is in an apprentice program guided by his project manager, mentor, supervisor and apprentice advisory training committee.

Working Conditions

• Some exposure to elevated degrees of high heat, noise, dust, dirt and/or areas requiring infection control. Requires meeting deadlines for completion of work on a daily basis. Must be able to work all hours, including weekends and nights, as necessary, in order to maintain facility at the appropriate and safe level.
