The Plumber 1 position within the Office of the Military 152nd Civil Engineer Squadron at the Reno Taho IAP installation requires skilled work on indoor and outdoor plumbing equipment, including installation, preventive maintenance, and repairs of fixtures and lines in accordance with plumbing codes.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, estimating costs, procuring materials, reviewing blueprints, and coordinating with contractors when needed to keep facilities in proper working order.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to diagnose problems, estimate costs, and perform repairs and preventive maintenance.

Responsabilités

• Respond to repair orders; establish priority of repairs; diagnose problems; estimate costs; procure materials; perform repairs and maintenance.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules; inspect, clean, service, and adjust equipment to prevent malfunctions.
• Install water, waste, steam, and gas lines; review blueprints; design and layout plumbing systems; locate utilities; cut, thread, weld or solder pipes.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair plumbing systems; open clogged drains; repair pumps and valves; ensure systems function correctly.
• Maintain, inspect, and repair backflow systems; document inspections.
• Provide guidance to maintenance staff and assist contractors as needed.
• Perform related duties under supervision; this is the journey level in the series.
