Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Plumber 1 to maintain and install plumbing systems at Fort Indiantown Gap. You will perform fixture repairs, pipe work, material management, and record keeping to ensure safe, reliable facilities.

The role requires three years of related experience or an equivalent mix of training, and an active driver's license. Work hours are 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with no telework option.

• Fixture Repair: Install and repair bathroom and kitchen fixtures, including faucets, showers, commodes, and sinks
• Pipe Work: Repair or replace faucets and pipes, and bend, cut, ream, thread, weld, and solder pipe as required
• Material Management: Prepare material lists, track materials used, and return unused items to warehouse stock
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials utilized
• Safety Practices: Follow plumbing trade safety procedures, maintain a clean workspace, and report or correct hazards promptly
• Tool Maintenance: Keep tools and equipment in good working condition through preventive maintenance and minor repairs

This position focuses on maintaining and installing plumbing systems that help keep Fort Indiantown Gap functioning safely and efficiently. As a Plumber 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Fixture Repair: Install and repair bathroom and kitchen fixtures, including faucets, showers, commodes, and sinks
• Pipe Work: Repair or replace faucets and pipes, and bend, cut, ream, thread, weld, and solder pipe as required
• Material Management: Prepare material lists, track materials used, and return unused items to warehouse stock
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials utilized
• Safety Practices: Follow plumbing trade safety procedures, maintain a clean workspace, and report or correct hazards promptly

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing components and fixtures; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

• This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Additional Requirements:

• You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Class E (Water) Certification
• Completion of formal training in the plumbing trade
• Previous experience as a plumber
• Previous experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of water main breaks, and the sanitizing of water mains due to main breaks
• Previous experience in the maintenance, repair, or replacement of underground water mains or sewage lines
• Previous experience in the installation or connection of service lines to water or sewage mains
• Previous experience working in hazardous conditions such as confined space, electrical currents, or chemical exposure
